01 — THE OPPORTUNITY

A remarkable property hiding in plain sight

Riverside Hotel occupies one of Fort Lauderdale’s most distinctive positions: a historic property on Las Olas Boulevard, overlooking the New River and woven into the city’s identity.

Its history, architecture and local affection offer something newer hotels cannot manufacture. The opportunity was not to reinvent Riverside, but to make its existing character more visible, cohesive and relevant.

Riverside Facade
THE QUESTION

How could Riverside preserve what people already love while becoming impossible for a new generation to overlook?

02 — WHAT I OBSERVED

Four strategic observations shaped the direction

INSIGHT 01

Legacy

Riverside possesses a history, identity and local affection that newer hotels cannot recreate. Its past should become an active part of the guest experience—not simply background information.

INSIGHT 02

Location

The property connects the energy of Las Olas with the quieter rhythm of the New River, creating an unusually strong sense of place.

INSIGHT 03

Experience

Its dining, courtyard, pool, event and riverfront spaces offer the ingredients for one cohesive journey, but they need a clearer story connecting them.

INSIGHT 04

Relevance

A more consistent visual, editorial and programming system could make Riverside easier to recognize, remember and share with a new generation.

AI-ENABLED HOSPITALITY

AI-enabled. People-led. Distinctively Riverside.

Used thoughtfully, AI could help Riverside teams recognize returning guests, meaningful occasions and service needs before they are missed. The purpose is simple: more consistent, personal hospitality delivered by people who understand both the guest and the character of the hotel.

People-first principle: Technology supports employees; hospitality remains human. Guest information is consent-based and human-reviewed.

07 — MEASURING PROGRESS

Measuring the journey from discovery to return

Return

Repeat and direct bookings, referrals, guest satisfaction, review sentiment, email engagement and intention to return.

HOW I WORK
