SYNOPSIS

At HeidtMoore, prestige is everything—and everything has a price.

On the surface, the legendary six-floor department store dazzles with designer exclusives, pristine windows and a legacy of luxury. Behind its marble floors and golden doors, the institution is cracking. A corporate takeover, mass layoffs and a covert boardroom plan threaten to dismantle the company and abandon the people who built it.

Mary, a rising retail star poised for leadership, discovers the plan just as the promotion she has worked toward comes within reach. Exposing the truth could save the store and its employees but cost her the career, status and future she has fought to secure.

HeidtMoore is a high-gloss, darkly comic drama where fashion masks dysfunction, power dresses impeccably and ambition can be fatal.

WHY NOW

Luxury retail is in a moment of reinvention. Iconic institutions are confronting consolidation, shifting consumer expectations and the human cost of transformation, while still being expected to project perfection.

HeidtMoore turns that tension into drama. Its world is specific, but its questions are universal: What happens when loyalty is no longer rewarded? How far will people go to protect the institutions that shaped them? And what does ambition cost when the rules change without warning?

Set inside a seductive world rarely explored on television, the series combines the glamour of fashion, the suspense of corporate power and the dark comedy of maintaining appearances while everything underneath begins to fracture.

BEHIND THE STORY

HeidtMoore began with a world we knew firsthand. For more than fourteen years, we worked inside luxury retail, close to the executives, clients, events and brand machinery that keep an institution polished and to the people quietly holding it together behind the scenes.

That experience became the foundation for our novels, Personal Appearances Are Everything and Online Or Off: satirical love letters to a world as seductive as it is demanding.

Mary is fictional, but the pressures surrounding her are not: impossible expectations, fragile loyalties, boardroom decisions and the constant performance of perfection. Through her, I explore what happens when the institution you have spent years protecting becomes the thing you may need to expose.

HeidtMoore expands that world for television—a high-gloss drama about ambition, identity and the human cost of keeping up appearances.
